About Our Program
NYSWDA conducts activities to assist both Weatherization Assistance Programs (WAP) and NYSERDA low-income residential programs in obtaining bulk purchase pricing benefits. NYSWDA’s procurement program provides regional pricing not only on basic energy conservation but health & safety materials, lead safe work practice materials, new construction windows, R-5 windows and mobile home furnaces and controls.
These products are priced using a formal sealed bid process on an annual basis. Results comply with the current Weatherization Policies and Procedures. The vendor list for these bids is continually updated and maintained, and is made up of both local and major suppliers.
The general categories and brief description of the items included in our bid are as follows:
- Baseload: aerators & showerheads
- Air Infiltration: caulk, one & two component foam, weatherstripping,door sweeps, air conditioning covers, hot water tank covers, house wrap pipe wrap, recessed light covers, attic hatch insulation
- Lamps: LEDs
- Detectors & Alarms: smoke detectors, carbon monoxide alarms & combination
- Insulation: batt or roll and blown insulation, foam board/blue board, high R value rigid foam sheet
- Health & Safety: masks, cartridges, safety glasses, hard hats, Tyvek suits, poly, tape, etc.
- Standard Windows: all styles and sizes
- R-5 Windows: all styles and sizes
- Mobile Homes: furnaces and accessories, roofing membrane, doors, windows, belly patch fabric, etc.
- ASHRAE 62.2 products: vents and controls
NYSWDA acts as an intermediary between the vendors and agencies, addressing performance, pricing, and quality issues as necessary.
NYSWDA serves as a procurement resource by providing answers to member questions regarding specs, vendor info, new technology, and providing useful information for both NYSWDA’s statewide and local agency bids.
NYSWDA also works to educate vendors on the Weatherization network and home performance industry.
