Implementing ASHRAE 62.2

Location:  Hudson Valley Community College's Training Center - 68 Morrison Avenue, Troy, NY  12180

This training is for:

Experienced energy auditors, building analysts, crew chiefs, home performance contractors, builders, remodelers, home improvement contractors, HVAC technicians, code officials, architects, engineers, home inspectors and energy raters.

Course Description:

NYSWDA's ASHRAE 62.2 training provides a foundational understanding of the new ventilation standards. The course curriculum is suitable for those in the weatherization and building performance industry and for those seeking a better understanding of ventilation requirements and techniques to achieve compliance.

The course begins with explanations of how to calculate ASHRAE 62.2 ventilation needs and how to identify types of ventilation systems and fan controls. "Hands on" instruction on measuring fan flow using a Minneapolis DG-700 digital manometer along with the Flow Blaster & Exhaust Fan Flow Meter will also be provided in NYSWDA's state-of-the-art Pressure House.

Students will gain an understanding of calculating ventilation needs, control setups, and measuring performance of ventilation systems.

Special Note for WAP Agencies

DOE WAP grantees must adopt and implement 62.2 version 2016. The focus of this training will be on both the ASHRAE 62.2 2016 and WPN 17-7 standards released by DOE for dwelling types 1-4.

This full-day training is intended for those auditors, analysts and crew chiefs that have NOT attended NYSWDA’s ASHRAE training in the past.

BPI has adopted ASHRAE 62.2 as the new standard. This means those recertifying must learn ASHRAE 62.2 for their recertification exams.
