3 Day Small Homes Auditing
Training location: NYSWDA's Training Center - 5869 Fisher Road, East Syracuse, NY 13057
Training will be available to those in NY whose regions have been designated for Phase Three. If your NY region is still in Phase Two, you will not be allowed to attend training until your region attains Phase Three status. Trainees from other states will need to provide documentation that shows their respective regions have been cleared for training.

Course Description;
This comprehensive 3-day class addresses the entire scope of actions required for an auditor in the New York State Weatherization Program (WAP) to successfully accomplish their job.
Through this class, we cover the back story on the program, governing documents, the process for using the TIPS software modeling program to generate an appropriate work-scope and learning how to correctly complete the required NYS WAP paperwork.
This is done by reviewing concepts, using real-life examples, and walking through case studies to learn the technical processes and the nuances required to address the scope of a complete job.
Agenda;
Day 1 (morning): Background on weatherization, including legislation and implementation. A brief review of building science concepts and pre-audit preparations.
Day 1 (afternoon): Walk-through of the components of a weatherization audit and collection of information of a case study and an introduction to computer modeling through TIPS software.
Day 2 (morning) Computer modeling concepts and application of the case study in TIPS.
Day 2 (afternoon): Continuation of TIPS concepts and work scope generation, work order processes, and project management of expenses and presentation for post inspection.
Day 3 (morning): Additional case study and TIPS modeling of additional case study.
Day 3 (afternoon): Completion of TIPS modeling discussion, review deferral process, post-audit review, working with the State of New York Field Reps and a review of resource provided throughout the class.
