Course Description:

Part 1:  Project Assessment - Finding the Right Project

Finding the right fit for a project that is within the parameters of ARPA will be critical to the success of the program.  This short course will discuss program goals, workscope options, and roadblocks to look for as you select clients and homes to move into your ARPA schedule.

Part 2:  Roofing Basics and Estimating

Leaking roofs are a major source of deferral in the Weatherization Assistance Program. Now, with funding made available through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) local agencies will have the ability to repair and replace residential roofing. This short course will introduce local programs to the various components of a roof, typical roofing materials, and specifics on what to look for when writing a scope of work to address the roof. The course will also instruct students on how to properly measure a roof and discuss potential issues they may run into. A sample specification and bid sheet will be provided.
