BPI AC & Heat Pump Professional

Course Description;
NYSWDA’s BPI AC &Heat Pump Professional course is a comprehensive 4-day training which covers HVAC related topics including BPI 1200 and AC/Heat Pump Standards, inspection and test out of AC and Heat Pump systems, system refrigerant charging, duct testing and balancing, and best practices for installation and inspection of these systems along with an overview of home energy auditing basic skills such as blower door, ventilation flow hood, Duct Blaster, Combustion Appliance Zone (CAZ) and gas line testing.
This is a challenging course and attendees should have an HVAC background. This course prepares students to challenge the written and field examinations required to achieve the BPI AC/HP Professional Certification. To achieve the BPI AC/HP Professional certification, a student must receive a passing score on both the online and field examinations. Students seeking this certification must meet additional prerequisites in order to qualify to challenge the exams (see Prerequisites section below).
Please note that for this course, the cost of field exams is NOT included for and that field tests are scheduled separately. Candidates have one year from the time they pass the written test to schedule the field test.

Prerequisites:

Additionally, to enhance the candidate chances of passing it is very strongly recommended that class attendees also hold a current BPI Building Analyst certification. Anyone holding a BPI BA certification will have a 50-question test, all related to the course material. If not, they will have to do a 100-question test with 50 of those questions related to the course material and 50 questions related to building science.

BPI Testing Fees;
$220/person - 50-question written test / If you do not have a current BPI certification, you will have to take a 100 question written test ($250)
