Basic Electricity for Weatherization Professionals

Training Location:  NYSWDA Training Center - 5869 Fisher Road, East Syracuse, NY  13057

Course Description:
The Basic Electricity training course consists of a full day of lecture and video on these topics:

• Working safely with electricity
• Basic AC electrical theory including Ohm’s Law
• Using ohm, volt, and amp meters
• Common wiring components
• Pulling/snaking wire
• Wiring in ventilation fans/smart switches
• Common residential circuits-Troubleshooting

All training is done to meet the standards of the National Electric Code (NFPA 70). Students will come away with a basic understanding of electrical theory using tools of the trade and standard wiring methods.

The training will also include hands-on instruction in the Heating Lab
